Interesting! That really looks like it’s worth trying out. In particular, the code completion and documentation look really useful and impressive, and that’s not something that textmate has, at least to my knowledge. And the database browser/editor looks really useful. A lot of the other features that he lists are available in textmate too though. Plus there’s the side advantage of being able to run the same IDE on Mac or Windows, which would be a big plus for me—it’s always a little jarring to have to use a different editor whenever I switch from my desktop (mac) to my laptop (windows). I guess the big open question is speed—some java-based editors just run really slowly, and eat a lot of system resources. Someone needs to try this thing out and give us the scoop! |
